Eaton County 4-H Horse Developement Committee Eaton County's Horse Development Committee is a Teen-run Organization within 4-H which works to establish and support the youth horse community.

👉2-hour clinics are $35 per person, and you must bring your own horse. We will build upon existing skills while helping riders prepare for success both in and out of the show pen. A small portion of the clinics will also focus on building the foundations of good horsemanship beyond riding; which includes grooming, tack, ground work, horse behavior, safety, and horse health.

We would love to see everyone this weekend! No show clothes, it’s a good show to come to before fair. Friday night speed starts at 7 pm and Saturday pleasure starts at 9 am!

Come out to the Eaton County Fairgrounds tomorrow, August 12, to support our horse program! Pleasure classes start at 9am and speed will start at 1pm. All proceeds will go towards renting/purchasing box stalls.

Horses are amazing athletes and wonderful companions, but they are also a significant investment of both time and money. The American Horse Council estimates there are 9.2 million horses in the United States, and 1 percent to 1.5 percent of these horses are unwanted, roughly 92,000 to 138,000. (from www.eXtension.org/horses) Factors contributing to the number of unwanted horses include rising feed costs, lack of financial resources due to a failing economy, indiscriminate breeding and closure of U.S. processing facilities.
