It is a secret place, hidden within the Forrest. I'll never tell. A spirit of warm and friendly neighbors makes this a great place to call home.

The Sonquipaug Association is a private residential community located on Watchaug Pond in Charlestown, Rhode Island. This four season area features a pristine pond for boating, fishing, swimming, waterskiing, canoeing and kayaking. President: Greg Possemato

Blizzard Calvin showed up and showed off!
Thirty one inches of snow later, Sonquipaug is slowly but surely digging out ❄️

Huge thank you to our incredible plow drivers and the neighbors who checked in, shoveled out, and helped each other through it. That’s what makes this association so special.

Grateful that we still have power and even more grateful for this community. Stay warm and keep digging! 💙

Temporary Dock Use Update:
Due to current Watchaug Pond conditions, the dock is temporarily open for sleds and toboggans, cross country skis, penguins and polar bears only. 🥶 🧊

❄️ A snowy surprise at Sonquipaug! About 5 inches of heavy, wet snow fell overnight, giving us a rare winter peek at a place most of us only know during sunny, warm, colorful summer days. Cleanup is already underway, and the grounds are being cared for as always.

And yes… even Bigfoot showed up to check on things 😄🦶❄️

It’s a side of Sonquipaug we don’t often see, quiet, snowy, and still full of its own kind of magic. Stay warm, everyone! ❄️

⚠️ Seasonal Safety Update ⚠️
The life-saving AED (Automated External Defibrillator) has been removed from the beach area for the winter season. It will be safely stored and reinstalled in the spring before the start of beach season.

☀️ 🎉 Nicki and Rick just returned from Florida, where Nicki celebrated her birthday with a day “around the world” at Epcot! On their way back home, Nicki snapped some beautiful photos and was reminded there’s truly no place like home. 🌊✨ Enjoy these views of Watchaug Pond, Roy Carpenter’s Beach, and Point Judith.

This is a notice that our water system will be flushed and all six water shut off valves will be turned on and off.

Northeast Water Solutions will be here September 16 between 830 and 9am

The process wont take long and disruption will be very minimal or you wont notice any.

We encourage customers to refrain from drawing water while flushing is being conducted. Running cold water for a few minutes after the conclusion of the flushing should clear the lines. Also just for water clarity before use .

The water board apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates your support in our attempt to supply clean safe water.

What a perfect way to close out the season at Sippin’ in Sonquipaug! 🍷✨ Thank you to everyone who brought wine and appetizers. A special shoutout to the vintage throwback wine glasses from 2010. 🥂 We shared stories from summers past and this season’s memories…and even had an unexpected guest, a little brown bat, who swooped in to shake things up! 🦇 Cheers to community, laughter, and many more seasons together
