Fall leaves are beautiful… until they’ve taken over the sidewalk. 🍂

While you’re clearing your own walkway, consider asking an older neighbor if you can help with theirs. A few extra minutes with a rake or broom can make someone’s day a little easier.

Sometimes caring for our community looks like showing up with yard tools. 😊

Our friends from First Presbyterian Church Charleston, WV have been stalwart supporters of our work with older neighbors in our community since we started this program in 2014.

We are so blessed to call this congregation friends…and many of them are also volunteers!

This week, representatives from their Mission Committee stopped by to present us with a grant to help fund our work. Thank you, Barb and Steve, for delivering this good news to us in person! 🩷

What do you get the birthday girl who is part-daughter, part-bff, part-therapist, and part-co-worker extraordinaire?!?

A couple days off and a silly Facebook post.

😂😂😂

Morgan Brooke Dierdorff, you are a light in the world and I just love to watch you shine.

Happy birthday, mama. You are so loved! ❤️

What an honor to host AARP leaders from all over the South Region for a day of volunteering at our office!

Gaylene Miller, State Director of AARP West Virginia, brought her guests to our place in style…check out that ride! Once here, we tucked all of those lovely people into every spare nook and cranny of our space for an afternoon of taking care of business.

From newsletters to outreach, from stuffing stockings to listening to me talk about our organization’s journey, lots was accomplished in a short amount of time.

“Never underestimate the power of a small group of people to change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

Grateful to our new AARP friends in offices from DC to Alabama for proving the old adage true yet again.

What a joyful day!

I LOVE THIS!!!!!

Such a win-win for all involved. Wouldn't it be fabulous to kick off something like this in our community? 😍

The nonprofit HANK pairs teens with seniors in Garden City, Floral Park and Stewart Manor to help with household chores, such as vacuuming, gardening, snow removal and more.
