“Yesterday afternoon was a beautiful and emotional tribute to Leah and the impact she continues to have on so many lives. Seeing Leah’s cap placed among the graduates was meaningful beyond words.

A heartfelt thank you to Mike Kelley for honoring Leah, mentioning her during the ceremony, and offering a moment of silence in her memory. Thank you as well to the faculty, students, and staff for the love, kindness, and support shown to our family.

A special thank you to Ashton Walker for mentioning both Leah and Leah’s Legacy during her speech. Your words meant so much and helped keep Leah’s light shining brightly on such an important day.

Leah’s memory continues to inspire so many, and we are forever grateful to everyone who helped make sure she was remembered, honored, and celebrated. ❤️

Congratulations to our 2026 Leah Strickland Memorial Scholarship recipients, Sam Kee and Jenna Brown!

Since the start of Leah’s Legacy just four years ago, we are proud to have awarded 7 scholarships totaling $17,500 to local students. Sam and Jenna truly embody Leah’s spirit through their dedication to academics, athletics, and perseverance.

Every year, Leah’s Legacy brings the community together to honor the life of Leah Strickland through scholarships, remembrance, and meaningful community impact. Thanks to the incredible support from our sponsors, participants, and supporters, more than $100,000 has been raised to continue that mission.

From title sponsorships to community partnership opportunities, there are several ways for businesses and individuals to get involved and support a cause centered around compassion, perseverance, and community.

We are NOT contacting vendors through random email accounts.

We will NEVER:
• Request vendor information this way
• Ask for payment through unofficial channels
• Reach out from unverified email addresses

If you receive one of these emails:

🚫 DO NOT send payment

Instead, forward it to us immediately so we can document and report it.

We are actively addressing this situation.

Registration is officially open for the Leah’s Legacy 5K, 1-Mile Walk, Kids Fun Run and celebration!

Leah showed up for her teammates, her friends, and her family with a “team first, all in” mindset. She led with heart, lifted others up, and left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her. This event continues the legacy of bringing people together, supporting local students, and turning remembrance into action.

Proceeds benefit the Leah Strickland Memorial Scholarship, which supports graduating Herbert Hoover seniors who meet what we call “Leah’s Standards.”

Not only is this a day full of races, but after, we celebrate with live music, DJs, food trucks, beverage vendors and more!

Today we remember Leah.

Today would have been her 18th birthday.

Leah’s Legacy was created to celebrate the joy, energy, and spirit she brought into the world. What began as a way to honor her life has grown into a community that comes together each year to run, remember, and support one another.

As we mark this special day, we are also beginning preparations for this year’s Leah’s Legacy Race. It is one of the most meaningful ways we continue her legacy, by bringing people together in her name and carrying forward the positivity she inspired in so many.
