What an incredible day at the farmers market! We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Brad at Gritts Farm, Chrisetta our staple jam vendor, Jessica from the Extension Service, Joe, Randy, and everyone at the park for always supporting and lending a hand. A big thank you to the ladies with the mobile Bible school for bringing such warmth and joy to our community.

A special shout-out to our amazing judges and all the talented competitors in the green bean cookoff—you made this event truly memorable. Congratulations to Erin Dalton from Huntington for winning the cookoff with her unique and delicious green-bean kimchi!

We had a great time, and we’re thrilled to announce that we sold out of vegetables! Keep your eyes peeled for some exciting announcements about September’s market and beyond. For now, it’s time for us to relax and enjoy the Olympics.

🎉 We can hardly contain our excitement for tomorrow’s farmers market at Ken Ellis Park in Campbells Creek! From 10 AM to 2 PM, the park will be buzzing with the best local produce, mouthwatering dishes, and the warm spirit of our community. 🌽✨

✨ This special shoutout goes to our incredible partner, Jessica Pollitt from the WVU Extension. Jessica has been a driving force in our community, traveling all over the county to teach our children the benefits of home gardening and eating fresh vegetables. Her dedication is unmatched, and we are extremely grateful for all the free handouts, seeds, and recipes she’s provided for our food of the month. 🥕🍅

💚 It’s the efforts of amazing people like Jessica that keep the Appalachian traditions of growing your own food alive and thriving. Together, we’re nurturing a future where our children not only know where their food comes from but also take pride in growing it themselves.

P.S. We’re still accepting applications for the green bean cookoff tomorrow! 🍴If you’ve got a dish that’s ready to wow the judges, email us at theccgardenproject(at)gmail.com to sign up. See you there! 🌾

Meet our final judge for the Green Bean Cookoff: the incredible Emma Lou Johnson! A lifelong Campbells Creeker, Emma Lou raised a house full of children, which meant many pots of green beans were simmering in her kitchen over the years. Beyond her love for cooking, she has a special passion for our veterans and played a key role in the installation and upkeep of the Veterans Memorial at Pt. Lick. 🌟

You can still enter the Green Bean Cookoff for free! Don’t miss your shot at prize money and an extra voucher! 🏆 See you at Ken Ellis Park!
