At Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County, we close our Restore, office, and construction sites on June 19th to remember the significance of Juneteenth. We encourage our Habitat Family to celebrate alongside us. Celebrate, educate, advocate, and shop in ways that support Black communities in and around Champaign County.

However, Juneteenth is more than a commemoration. It calls us to reflect on the long path toward freedom, justice, and equity for Black Americans. At Habitat, we recognize that true freedom must include access to safe, stable, and affordable housing as housing is fundamental to opportunity and generational wealth.
