Check out the Stevick Center this month!

What's going on at the Stevick Senior Center in June?

Now you can find out from the comfort of your own home by looking at the calendar online.

We have a "live" calendar where you can look at the schedule by month, week, or day. Just click on the event to see the times.

There is also a pretty PDF version. Just click on the little picture of the calendar to open that version. This version is printable. (We've attached a little preview here so you know what to look for.)

As always, call the Stevick Senior Center at 217-359-6500 if you want to check in about events, volunteering, helping with Food for Seniors, or the Cabutti Mitten Tree.

Happy June! We look forward to seeing you at Stevick!

Make sure you know if you have to meet the work requirements!

Today, Governor JB Pritzker and IDHS reminded SNAP customers about the changes the Trump Administration made to SNAP and how some customers will lose benefits on May 1, 2026 if they aren’t meeting or exempt from new work requirements.

KEY POINTS FOR ILLINOISANS:

-Due to Trump’s budget bill, around 150,000 Illinoisans are at risk of losing food assistance beginning May 1, 2026.

-Illinoisans on SNAP are encouraged to use the state’s screening tool to check their status: https://aberp.illinois.gov/screener/ABAWD?lang=EN

-The State of Illinois has resources for work and volunteer opportunities through Job Ready IL and Serve IL: https://www.dhs.state.il.us/?item=177800
