That car you no longer need could do a lot of good. 🚙

This Cartober, we’re joining nonprofits across the country in showing how vehicle donations can be turned into funding for programs and services that support our neighbors everywhere.

When you donate a vehicle through Cartober and choose SVdP, your vehicle's proceeds help fund our work serving neighbors across Georgia. 💙 That means an old car sitting in your driveway can help put food on a family’s table, provide access to needed medications, support housing programs and help neighbors through unexpected challenges.

Last month, the 2026 SVdP National Assembly brought Vincentians from across the country together to learn from one another and share how we’re responding to the changing needs of our neighbors.

One conversation that stayed with us came from our friend Brian Goldstone, author of There Is No Place for Us: Working and Homeless in America, who joined SVdP National President John Berry to discuss working families experiencing homelessness.

These families are often overlooked because they don’t fit the traditional picture of what it looks like to be unhoused. A parent may be working tirelessly while raising their children in an extended-stay motel, while another family may be one medical bill, cut to food assistance or unexpected expense away from losing their home.

We see those pressures here in Georgia, and we know they don’t exist separately. That’s why Motel-to-Home, our Community Pharmacy, food pantries and other programs work to address different needs that can all affect a family’s ability to get and stay housed.

The Assembly gave us the chance to share what we’re learning in Georgia while hearing how Vincentians in other communities are responding. We came home with new ideas and an even greater appreciation for a Vincentian community united by the call to love our neighbors.

💪 Our Adult Life Skills Class meets every Tuesday, offering practical tools and guidance to help you navigate life’s challenges, build confidence and strengthen everyday skills.

Looking to feel more confident about your finances? 💵 Money Matters offers financial education and budgeting support on Thursdays, including opportunities for personalized financial guidance.

For homebound seniors, something as simple as getting to the grocery store or a local food pantry can be out of reach. 🛒

Recently, Vincentians from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson packed 37 care packages for local seniors who face that struggle. With help from the Butts County Senior Center, each identified neighbor received approximately $100 worth of support delivered directly to their door.

These deliveries help ensure seniors who are isolated or unable to access other resources know their community is thinking of them and looking out for their needs. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who made Morning of Hope such a powerful expression of Our Mission for This Moment!

Last week, hundreds of friends, partners, volunteers and supporters gathered to celebrate the people and partnerships helping Georgia neighbors find food, housing, healthcare and a path toward stability.

The morning may be over, but the need continues. More than 30,000 calls for help reach St. Vincent de Paul Georgia each month.

As our fiscal year closes on September 30, there is still time to carry this moment forward. A gift helps ensure that when the next neighbor calls, someone is there to answer.

Five students are joining the SVdP team this school year and we’re so excited to see the difference they’ll make for our neighbors! 👏

We recently joined Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School for Draft Day, where these talented students were selected to work with SVdP through the school’s Corporate Work Study Program.

As they gain real-world experience, these students will also become part of the work happening every day at SVdP. Their time and talents will help support our team, strengthen our programs and contribute to the care we provide to neighbors across Georgia.

As a founding partner of CWSP, we’re grateful to continue creating opportunities for students to grow while introducing a new generation to the impact of service.

👕 Clothing is something many of us rarely have to think twice about. But for a neighbor facing financial hardship, having enough clothes for work, school, changing seasons or everyday life can become another source of stress. Millions of American families struggle with this challenge, and it is estimated that 2 in 5 children are clothing insecure.

On National Clothing Insecurity Awareness Day, we’re recognizing the importance of access to clothing that helps people feel comfortable, confident and cared for.

Through SVdP thrift stores, neighbors in need can receive vouchers to choose clothing and other essentials at no cost. The ability to choose allows each person to find what works for them while preserving the dignity and independence at the heart of our mission.
