The Knights of Columbus Archbishop Rummel Council 5747 is a Catholic Fraternal Organization founded in 1965.

Every day we strive to give back to our community in any way possible. Last Saturday we, along with our Ladies Auxiliary, volunteered to work along side the St Bernard Chamber of Commerce as they hosted Tour da Parish, a bike ride through the lower end of our parish. Riders from all over were able to experience the beauty of St Bernard, and after their ride were treated to jambalaya, fried shrimp, oyster shooters and fried fish.

Today was our October social which was hosted by our Rummel Ladies Auxiliary. The social was a take on a football tailgate. We had some delicious fried chicken and all the sides. We had a great time watching the Saints together even though the Saints didn’t come out with the win. Spending time together is what enjoyed the most. Our September Knight of the month was our Deputy Grand Knight, Brad Luscy. Our September Sister of the month was Tammy Indovina. Great job!

Today Rummel Council 5747 celebrated grandparents during their September social. Our Grand Knight, Terry Gutierrez, boiled shrimp, potatoes, corn and sausage. Everyone enjoyed the feast and fellowship while watching the Saints game. The Knight of the Month, Family of the month and Sister of the Month for July and August were honored. Knight of the Month for July is Jerry Wahl. Knight of the Month for August is Dan McGowen. Family of the Month for July is Cliff and Erin Bigner and Sister of the Month for July is Denise Ricouard. Congratulations to all of our honorees!

Yesterday, the St. Bernard Fourth Degree Assembly 2181 held its Installation of Officers at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, followed by a banquet at Rummel Hall.

We are proud to recognize several members of Archbishop Rummel Council 5747 who were installed as officers for the coming year:

🇺🇸 Ruben Saavedra – Faithful Navigator
🇺🇸 Cliff Bigner – Faithful Captain
🇺🇸 Bobby Turner – Trustee

Also serving, but unable to be present for the installation, are Tony DeLuca – Trustee and C.J. Acosta – Inner Sentinel.

The evening was made even more special when Ruben and Maddie Saavedra, of Rummel Council 5747, were honored as the St. Bernard Assembly 2181 Family of the Year! Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

Wishing all of the newly installed officers a successful year of service, leadership, faith, and fraternity. Congratulations to everyone!

Yesterday, Grand Knight of Rummel Council 5747, Cliff Bigner, was honored to officially present a donation of just over $10,000 to Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church from the proceeds of their recent fundraising raffle.

These funds will help support the replacement of the church carpeting, with the new carpet installation scheduled to begin this coming week. We are proud to play a small part in helping beautify our church and ensure that it remains a welcoming and inspiring place for worship, fellowship, and community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets, supported our efforts, and helped make this donation possible. Your generosity continues to make a difference.

Rummel Council 5747 proudly presented its second annual Joseph F. Rummel OLPS 7th Grade Scholarship to Aiden Amadeo on Friday.

Aiden will continue his education at Jesuit High School, and we are honored to recognize his hard work, dedication, and achievements.
