Welcome to the page for one of Ceres Virginia’s oldest and most beautiful buildings. In this building, Nebo School opened in the spring of 1934 and closed at the end of the 1963-64 school year. That last year, the class size was eleven - Grades First through Third. Years later, Smyth County gifted the historical treasure to the community. Now, the Nebo Community Center, run by Nebo Commun

ity Club volunteers, is one of the main venues for recreation in this small community. Our community events make this location a comfortable place to gather. Through game and movie nights, live music, dinners, storytelling and great conversation, we bring people of the community together. Our magnificent building and grounds are often used for indoor and outdoor events.
