Please join us on Saturday, June 27, from 12–3 PM for Demo Day, an exciting afternoon of live artist demonstrations.

FREE and open to all, Demo Day offers a rare opportunity to watch artists at work, learn about their materials and techniques, and ask questions about their creative processes.

Visitors are invited to explore the exhibition space at their own pace, moving between demonstration stations to experience a variety of artistic approaches firsthand. Whether you’re an artist, art enthusiast, or simply curious, come discover what happens behind the scenes of making art.

This program accompanies “Seen Scenes”—CREATE’s 2026 member show at the Kinderhook Knitting Mill—a series of public programs will be held throughout the run of the exhibition, designed to expand engagement, foster community, and highlight artistic practices!

GRACE LANG will showcase wool tufting! As an educator, Lang focuses on exploring new processes and loves to teach them. What excites her most is discovering new methods and combining them in unexpected ways.

ANDREW PELLETTIERI will draw live from a still-life arrangement using conte pencil, colored pencils, and/or oil sticks. Pelletieri’s paintings are a reflection of the worlds around him–centering scenes and objects of daily life. In capturing his subjects, he aims to simplify and avoid excessive details, to give the viewer only the essentials.

FERN APFEL, known for paintings inspired by vintage stamps, diary pages, and well-thumbed books, will offer a glimpse into her approach to rendering the handwritten and printed elements that define her distinctive compositions.

PAM POQUETTE will share her approach to creating soft, stuffed paintings through embroidery patterns and stitching techniques in both thread and paint. Her unique visual language transforms familiar forms into an ongoing conversation between perception, memory, and imagination.

DEMO DAY
Saturday, June 27, 12–3pm
Kinderhook Knitting Mill, 2nd Floor
8 Hudson St, Kinderhook, NY
