With a front row ticket to all the big events of his era, (4 George Foreman heavyweight championships, 3 World Series, 3 Rose Bowls, 1 NBA championship, 1 PGA and 2 U.S. Open Golf Championships, and the 1984 LA Olympics), Castro Valley’s Lowell Hickey lived the dream of every sports enthusiast. He served as the Sports Editor and Columnist for The Daily Review from 1969-1984, which won the California Newspaper Publishers Association award for best sports section in the state (under 50,000 circulation) in 1970 and 1976. Hickey will be interviewed by fellow Cal graduate and rugby All-American David Liebowitz.
