The ANSI/IICRC S500 Standard for Professional Water Damage Restoration defines the range of contamination present in a water damage event by assigning Categories of Water.

The S500 water damage Categories provide a standardized language for restoration professionals, insurance adjusters, and property owners to effectively communicate about the severity and level of contamination of a loss, making it easier to develop a clear and effective plan of action based on industry best practices.

Join CFI today and be part of a community of cleaning and restoration professionals dedicated to education, mentorship, and industry connections.
