In humility and respect, we lay our sacred acknowledgments and gratitude at the feet of all that is Indigenous, and therefore sacred, to these lands. To your mountains and valleys, oceans and deserts, and all that hold life as the original stewards of these sacred grounds. We seek your blessing and permission as settlers on your lands to carry forth this work with a commitment to elevating Indigenous interests and causes in all ways. As immigrants from the far ocean, we have a duty to your past, current, and future generations and are committed to learning, working, and supporting all that you wish for your descendants.

This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor our Pacific ancestors and the generations who have protected our ocean. For our Pasifika communities, the Pacific is more than water. It is our home, our culture, and our future.

As deep sea mining threatens our ocean, we stand together to say NO to deep sea mining! ✊🏽

Samoan Flag Day LA's 50th year must have been whispered in prayers and committed in promises of the elders who committed to its creation. We have a new generation of leaders who have accepted and are carrying on these legacies and are shouldering these duties with pride and love.

Join us this Thursday as we talk story with members of the 2026 Samoan Flag Day LA Board (Chair, Rev. Pausa Kaio 'PK' Thompson pkthompson and Board Member, Taeao 'Tadao' Salima Tadao Salima) about the legacy of this tradition in LA's Samoan community; what it took to build it, what it means to carry it, and why it still matters for the next generation of Samoan families in diaspora.
