PDG Larry dedicated his life to serving others and exemplified the true meaning of "We Serve." His friendship, leadership, kindness, and unwavering commitment to Lionism touched countless lives.

As Lion families, let us come together to honor his remarkable legacy by attending the services if you are able and by keeping PDG Bhee and the Donoghue family in our thoughts during this time.

Dear District 4-L3 Lions,

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Past District Governor Laurence “Larry” Donoghue, who passed away this morning, July 4, 2026, as our nation commemorates the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America.

The timing of his passing carries special meaning. PDG Larry was an attorney by profession, a man whose life’s work was grounded in law, justice, and the principles that guide and govern society. He brought that same knowledge, wisdom, and respect for good governance to his service in Lionism, where he was deeply involved in the Constitution and By-Laws of Lions.

It seems especially fitting that a man who dedicated so much of his professional life to the law—and his Lions service to preserving the principles, rules, and governance of our organization—would leave us on the day our nation celebrated 250 years of the ideals and constitutional principles he valued throughout his life.

PDG Larry served as District Governor of District 4-L3 during Lion Year 2013–2014. PDG Larry became a member of the Kayumanggi Lions Club in August 2004. In May 2014, PDG Larry and PDG Bhee along with other Carson Lions members organized and chartered the Carson Lions Club. PDG Larry served as our Constitution & Bylaws Chair and Club Director. Throughout his years of service, PDG Larry demonstrated a deep commitment to Lionism, leadership, and service to others. His friendship, guidance, and dedication touched the lives of many Lions and members of the communities he served. His legacy will continue through the Lions he mentored, the friendships he built, and the countless lives impacted through his service.

We extend our deepest condolences, love, and prayers to his wife and partner in service, PDG Bhee Donoghue, their family, and all who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside PDG Larry.

His counsel guided us. His leadership strengthened us. His service inspired us. And his legacy will remain a part of District 4-L3 for generations to come.

May Past District Governor Laurence “Larry” Donoghue rest in eternal peace. 🕊️🙏🇺🇸
