: The Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO) is proud to announce that applications are now open for its 2026 Immersion Program, marking a major milestone in the organization’s continued growth and commitment to strengthening Filipino diaspora leadership across North America.

For the first time, FYLPRO is expanding eligibility to include Filipino Canadians, opening the program to emerging leaders from Canada alongside applicants from the United States. With nearly 1 million Filipinos in Canada, this expansion reflects FYLPRO’s broader vision of engaging the global Filipino diaspora and building stronger bridges between the Philippines, the United States, and Canada.

Since 2012, the FYLPRO Immersion Program has served as the organization’s signature leadership experience in partnership with the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs, the Philippine Embassy in the United States, and now with expanded engagement through the Philippine Embassy in Canada.

This year, the Immersion Program is scheduled to take place from November 29 through December 4.

The week-long program brings together high-performing Filipino and Filipino diaspora leaders between the ages of 25 to 45 (46 in 2026 only) from across different industries and sectors for a transformative experience in the Philippines. Delegates meet with business, government, community, cultural, and civic leaders while deepening their understanding of the Philippines and identifying opportunities to contribute to the progress of the global Filipino community.

Applicants must complete and submit the application form by June 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific.

Two reference questionnaires must also be submitted by July 14, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific.

: Learning About Kinship, Acculturation/Enculturation, and Strength (LAKAS) Study on Filipinx/a/o American Families

Dr. Donna Demanarig, Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of the Holy Cross and President of the Asian American Psychological Association, along with Tayo Core Team Member Marian Herboso, are currently seeking Filipinx/a/o American parents/caregivers and adolescents to participate in the Learning About Kinship, Acculturation/Enculturation, and Strength (LAKAS) Study.

This study explores how cultural values, parent–child relationships, and experiences of stress shape emotions, communication, and mental health within Filipinx/a/o American families. The goal of this research is to better understand both the challenges and strengths within these families and help inform culturally responsive mental health support and community resources.

Eligible participants include parent/caregiver and adolescent pairs who identify as Filipinx/a/o or Filipinx/a/o American, live in the United States, and are comfortable speaking and understanding English. Adolescents must be between the ages of 11–17.

Participation includes brief surveys (approximately 10–15 minutes) and separate virtual Zoom interviews (approximately 75–90 minutes each). Each participating parent-adolescent pair will receive a $25 gift card.
