What is Cascade Challenge?

Cascade Challenge is a primitive tent camping/outdoor skills competition weekend for Cadettes (Gr. 6-8) & Senior/Ambassador (Gr. 9-12) of Girl Scouts of Western Washington Council*. This event is brought to you by a GSWW Committee of Volunteers. This will be our 44rd year as an event and 20 with the current name.

Troops will arrive Friday afternoon after 3PM to set up your campsite. Relax, look at the camp, mingle with outer troops. All challenge rotations will take place on Saturday, where the scouts will be evaluated on their teamwork, leadership skills, and combined knowledge in the skill areas listed below.

Saturday night is our famous Dinner Challenge! End Saturday relaxing at our roaring all camp campfire with songs and skits. Awards and recognition will take place on Sunday.

How many scouts can attend?

Register as a troop or form your own group with registered Girl Scouts from Multiple Troops. Each troop can have 2-10 members with a 2-adult requirement. To include more troops, we have a limit of one group per troop. (After January 15, 2026, and dependent on space availability, registration opens to troops/groups from any Girl Scout council and additional groups from the same troop).

Leaders Challenge
Canoeing or Team Dynamics (depends on the weather)
First-Aid
Animal Awareness
Navigation & Leave No Trace
Campsite Maintenance

How do we prepare?

A troop preparation packet will be emailed to you following receipt of your deposit. This contains everything you need to know to prepare for camp!

Cost:

$45 per person
$100 Deposit due at registration
Gluten free options available for dinner challenge at an addition $1.00 per person

Final payment and numbers due by March 16th, 2026
