The last Warrior Family Retreat of the season is this weekend. Cannot wait to see all the new families and share the healing power of the horse. Also excited to be paying it forward with all of you who have volunteered to help.

Although it’s the end of the season for retreats, it’s now the season for giving. Grants will only take us so far. It is the kindness of friends, volunteers and supporters that really makes the difference. We cannot do these retreats without your financial support too.

You do not have to be rich. Even a small donation helps pay the bills (hotel, insurance, groceries, facility rental, therapists, etc.). Especially, this time of year when there’s a lot of bills and coffers are dwindling.

We know you get many requests for all kinds of worthy causes, but we hope you will find it in your heart to give what you can to bring peace and healing to our military families and joy to a horse crazy kid who just wants to go to summer camp with their friends.

We know our $10,000 goal is a stretch, but we are confident we can make it with your help. A small monthly sustaining gift is a great option that helps us budget and plan. You can also double your donation if your employer has a matching gift program.

Do you think the military takes care of its families? Many military families do not make enough money to cover essential needs. The cost of housing, childcare, and lack of substantive employment for spouses is especially challenging here in the Pacific Northwest. Food insecurity is a reality.

Lunch ladies (and men) are needed for the Warrior Family Retreat coming up August 29 & 30 in Fall City, Wash.

The retreat brings together military families from across the Puget Sound area to experience the healing power of the horse and create lifetime family memories. There are plenty of mouths to feed and volunteers are needed to help prepare and serve meals.

The second Warrior Family Retreat is coming up August 29 & 30 in Fall City, Wash. and childcare volunteers are needed. The retreat brings together military families from across the Puget Sound to experience the healing power of the horse and create lifetime family memories. While mom and dad are off learning new life skills to be better parents and partners, the kids need to be entertained and cared for. They range in age from a few months to teens.

So if you are dying to cuddle a baby, want to help herd a toddler, or play games with the kids for a couple hours, please sign up to volunteer. You’ll be thanking our military families who serve and giving them some much needed peace and joy in these dangerous times.
