Very grateful for our partnership with Carlisle Elks Lodge #578 and excited for their support of our mission!

Carlisle Elks is partnering with Safe Harbour for a Beacon Grant received from the Elks National Foundation. In the picture from right to left are Barrie Ann George (Safe Harbour and Elks member), Scott Shewell (Safe Harbour and Elks member); ER Karin Bell, and Kim Strizzi, Grants Coordinator.

Safe Harbour, is a non-profit organization in Carlisle that provides shelter and transitional housing for homeless individuals and families. Safe Harbour has a shelter in Carlisle located on the corner of Pitt and High Streets, and the grant funding will be utilized to purchase platform beds and storage containers to replace existing beds which are nearing their end of functional life. In addition, the grant will be used to purchase supplies to do some needed renovations and repairs at the shelter. Consistent with our motto, "Elks Care/Elks Share"; Elks members will be asked to volunteer time on a monthly basis to assist with assembling the beds and help with some of the renovations/repairs. Stay tuned for details on dates and times!

A fresh haircut can make a big difference—and we are so grateful to Euphoria Salon for sharing their time and talents with our Safe Harbour residents!

Four wonderful stylists from Euphoria Hair Salon recently joined us at Safe Harbour and provided free haircuts to nearly a dozen adults and children. They made sure everyone left feeling cared for and refreshed, and even provided each resident with a special goody bag to take home!

We are incredibly appreciative of Euphoria Salon and their desire to give back to our community in such a personal and meaningful way. Acts of kindness like this help our residents feel supported, valued, and connected to the community around them.

Thank you to the entire Euphoria team for spending part of their Sunday with us. We loved having you and look forward to welcoming you back again!

A huge thank you to Girl Scout Troops 10712 and 10716 of Perry County, operating within the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania council, for their incredible generosity!

The troops recently hosted a donation drive and filled an entire trunk with bedding essentials to help make our residents feel more comfortable and at home. In addition to collecting blankets and other needed items, the girls also took the time to create beautiful handmade knit blankets, adding an extra layer of warmth, comfort, and care for the individuals and families we serve.

Their kindness, creativity, and commitment to serving the community will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.

Thank you, Troops 10712 and 10716, for showing what it means to lead through service!

Interested in hosting a donation drive for Safe Harbour? We'd love to partner with you! Before getting started, please contact Barrie Ann George, Vice President of Development and Communications, at [email protected] or 717-249-2200. She can provide Safe Harbour logos, information about our current needs, and help coordinate a convenient donation drop-off. Because storage space is limited, we schedule larger donations to ensure they can be organized and distributed effectively.

A huge thank you to the amazing campers from Supportive Partnerships for Youth for spending part of their summer giving back to Safe Harbour!

Every act of kindness tells a story... and what a story this has been.

As our Christmas in July campaign comes to a close, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this month so special. Through your generosity, encouragement, and support, we've shared the story of how a community can come together to provide shelter, support, and stability for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

A very special thank you to Create-A-Palooza for hosting Santa's Sleigh throughout the month and serving as a collection site for product donations. Your partnership made it easy for our community to give back and helped fill our shelves with much-needed essentials.

We're also incredibly grateful to Santa Claus from Kringle and Krampus for spending the month with us. From making beds and stocking pantry shelves to visiting with children, volunteering alongside our staff, reviewing affordable housing plans, and helping tell our story, thank you for bringing so much joy, compassion, and Christmas spirit to Safe Harbour this July.

And to everyone who donated, volunteered, shared our posts, encouraged others to support our mission, or plans to get involved in the future... Thank you. You helped make this campaign a success, and your kindness will continue making a difference long after Christmas in July has ended.

There's still time to help write the next chapter. Make a financial gift today by visiting https://safeharbour.org/donate/

Thank you for helping us bring hope home. Not just during the holidays, but every day of the year.

The final chapter has arrived...

When Santa first arrived at Safe Harbour this July, he came to see how our community was helping neighbors in need. Along the way, he made beds for new residents, visited children, stocked pantry shelves, volunteered alongside our team, explored affordable housing, and discovered that the greatest gifts aren't wrapped in paper. They're found in acts of kindness.

As our Christmas in July story comes to a close, one thing remains true: the need for shelter, support, and stability doesn't end when July does.

To everyone who donated, volunteered, shared our posts, encouraged others to support Safe Harbour, or is planning to volunteer or host a donation drive... Thank you. Your generosity and willingness to help bring hope, opportunity, and brighter futures to individuals and families throughout our community.

But every great story has another chapter waiting to be written.

❤️ There's still time to help write the next one. Make a financial gift before July ends by visiting https://safeharbour.org/donate/ or by scanning the QR code in the final page of our storybook.

Thank you for making our Christmas in July campaign such a success. Together, we're bringing hope home. Not just during the holidays, but every day of the year.

The End... until the next chapter begins.

Santa's sleigh has made another stop... and there's still time to help fill it!

A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated to our Christmas in July collection at Create-A-Palooza. Every can of food, household essential, and pantry item helps provide comfort, dignity, and hope for the individuals and families who call Safe Harbour home.

There are only a couple of days left to be part of this special campaign! If you're in downtown Carlisle, stop by Create-a-Palooza and help Santa's sleigh make one more delivery to Safe Harbour before Christmas in July comes to an end.

Can't make it downtown?
