Zero need for anything remotely close to this. I hope they impound the machine and lock the guy up. If found out to be a CVR member I'm ripping up their membership and send the money to the landowner.

Maine Warden Service is looking for information regarding the owner and operator of a side by side ATV that struck and dragged a landowner who had stopped the ATV on his property.

Last night at approximately 8:30 p.m. on the Pequawket Lake Road in Limington, a landowner watched a side by side ATV ride through their property at a high rate of speed. When the ATV returned a few minutes later, the landowner was able to stop the ATV, and told him he needed to slow down. When the landowner attempted to photograph the ATV and the registration, the operator rapidly accelerated, striking the landowner and dragging him 75 feet before he got away. The landowner was treated at the hospital for abrasions and contusions and was released last night.

The ATV is a one bench side by side that seats two people and is gray and black in color with a prominent brush guard on the front of the ATV. The ATV was driven by a male operator in an orange shirt, with a female passenger who had dark hair.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Regional Communications Center dispatch in Augusta at 207-624-7076 ext. 9 or contact MaineOperation Game Thief at 1-800-ALERT-US or maineogt.org if they wish to remain anonymous.

TRAIL UPDATE - 633F Connor Trail (read to the end)

Unfortunately this isn't the greatest news. As you know we have kept the Connor Trail closed due to a washout preventing anyone from safely crossing and some ground work being done by a land owner.

While working on getting a contractor in to fix the issue we were notified we will no longer have land owner permission along a portions of this trail. This is a direct result of the last legislative session when the "oversize" machines were being discussed. The way the entire process has been handled has left land owners with machines they can no longer register and extremely upset about the whole situation. They want to be heard and this is how they are choosing to do it. If you are angry point it towards Augusta and organizations who actively fought against working on a compromise, not the land owners.

We are working on a solution to open the trail back up along a new route but that takes time and a lot of effort. Please be patient with us as we attempt to make the connection.

As of right now we are opening from North Caribou Park to the end of the trailhead on Dubay Pit Rd. The signage is not complete so well be out in the next couple days to complete. The access to the Northern part of the railbed is also open but SLOW DOWN or we'll loose access there as well. The trail entrance from the Southern part of the railbed to the North Caribou Park is, as of this writing, CLOSED. All riders along this trail (and there have been several we've encountered) will be dealing with the Game Wardens. We aren't the police or the enforcers, just the messengers.

Please remember that parking is not allowed at our fire station (the old DOT garage in Stockholm) due to so many issues with people blocking the way for emergency apparatus.

That said, we know people are looking for places to access ATV trails, especially those from the north where trails are still closed.

Stockholm has a place just down the street that is exactly for this purpose. ๏ฟผThey also have walking trails there too . Everything in town is access way for atv also. So you park and ride up the road to hit the trail just above the fire station.

We hope this helps you, ride safe!

Reminder๐Ÿ›‘โš ๏ธ๐Ÿ›‘โš ๏ธ๐Ÿ›‘โš ๏ธ

Connor Trail (633F) is STILL currently closed from all entry points. There are several things happening preventing the opening. Trailmaster was out with a contractor today and encountered multiple machines.

Riding on the closed trail could result in the complete closure.
