What a wonderful first few weeks of the spring season! We have had a wonderful Tunes at Twilight Spring Series with hundreds of attendees each week and a fantastic start to our Cape Riverfront Market with vendors selling out and hundreds from the community visiting our beautiful downtown.

Old Town Cape strives to preserve, promote, revitalize and enrich our historic, cultural and economic downtown which stretches from North Street, Shawnee Parkway, the Mississippi River, and to West End Blvd. We aim to bring individuals to our downtown district to spend time, shop and eat locally from all of the businesses within.

As we strive to connect people to our downtown community, we welcome suggestions on how we can work better to serve our downtown. We encourage individuals to reach out to us directly via email at [email protected].

Wander around and look at the buildings (Historic preservation has corrupted me)

What is your favorite thing about downtown Cape?
The walkability and the amount of things you can notice when you’re moving at human speed instead of car speed

What is your favorite thing outside of work?
I’ve got a lot of hobbies, my favorite one to talk about is probably HEMA

If you could have dinner with anyone, living or not, who would it be and why?
My Great Grandpa David, I’ve been told we’re similar/would get along well, and think it’d be fun to experience for myself

Join us for our kickoff event for the Sculpture Exhibition! On June 27th, in Historic Ivers Square, will be the unveiling of the selected sculptures. The community will have the opportunity to not only meet the artists, but to also engage with other art forms. The event will feature plein air artists, working potters, live statues, wood carving, and other family friendly activities.

The Downtown Art Exhibition is made possible with the support of the Downtown Cape Girardeau Community Improvement District and the City of Cape Girardeau.
