A little preview of the Fort Jackson trail work completed yesterday by Kevin Cootware of Cootware Excavation on the skidsteer and Cody Russell of Rocking C Hauling, who delivered 10 loads of gravel to the site.

The gravel was purchased using trail pass funds, directly supporting improvements to the multi-use trail system for everyone to enjoy.

It is greatly appreciated working with local businesses that take pride in their work and always go the extra mile to support the community and our trail system. Their hard work and dedication help make these projects possible. 🌲🛻👏

🚨 TRAILS OPEN FRIDAY THE 15TH!!!

Please ride safe, respect landowners, and stay on the marked trails at all times. The last few days of rain have left some areas soft with mud and water in low-lying sections.

Please slow down through muddy and wet areas to help prevent trail damage and keep the system in great shape for everyone to enjoy throughout the season.

Ride smart, be courteous, and enjoy the trails across beautiful St. Lawrence County! 🛻🌲

Volunteers have been hard at work completing last-minute maintenance to prepare the multi-use trail for opening day Friday, May 15. Today volunteers repaired two knee-deep washouts caused by spring runoff, helping ensure the trail is safe and ready for everyone to enjoy. Gravel was added to cold spring culvert. NYSDEC is writing a work plan for future work here.

Thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers who continue putting in the time and effort to improve and maintain our trail system. Your hard work and commitment make these recreational opportunities possible for our communities and visitors alike.

Thank you to the County Highway Department for adding road signs on the southern end of the multi-use trail. These are the final finishing touches before we officially open on Friday, May 15.

It’s exciting to see a vision from 20 years ago become a reality, with the St. Lawrence and Lewis County multi-use trail systems now connected.

This accomplishment reflects years of dedication, partnerships, and volunteer support from so many people and organizations along the way.

Happy Trails!

Thank you to Tresseders Garage for repairing the multi-use trail dump trailer. I brought it in to have a hook welded onto the tailgate, and they went above and beyond by reinforcing the trailer sides and fixing the wiring as well.

The trailer is now better than new. It is greatly appreciated working with a local business that takes pride in their work and always goes the extra mile to support the community and our trail system volunteers.
