Our Big Trap for 30 cats sold out in about 3 hours. If that doesn’t scream the desperation cat caretakers are at with getting spay and neuter services, I don’t know what does.

We could have easily booked 60 cats. The issue is paying the vet bill at the end of the day.

Many of you will be preparing for end of year giving including GivIng Tuesday and Holiday giving. And we do humbly ask you to consider us. We are a registered non profit with an EIN.

Many of you may not realize that your company offers donation matching. My company does! Reach out to HR or look at your employee handbook. We are happy to provide receipts to your company to receive those funds.

I will admit that I didn’t think we would be able to make goal this year due to the increase of expenses, the decrease access to affordable surgeries and the economy our donators are living in. But you all still showed up. I am fully believing we are getting to 400 cats this year.

What does that mean for next year? There will again be an increased demand for affordable spay and neuter services. We will be back asking you to support your local neighbors in getting cats to clinic.

Thank you for an absolutely incredible 2026. We are not in the chapter of life where we are retired or empty nesters. I have six kids in school and two jobs. Yet even being stretched so thin, when I had nothing left to give you all showed up and filled in the gap. From our expanded foster families that took in cats and kittens, to reliable transporters and trappers to our generous donators, we are blessed beyond measure. All because of our love for cats.

Celebration Monday 🎉

We had two more campground kitties adopted this week!!!

Peppa Pig (black and white) took awhile being a black and white kitten. She was favorite of the room with a fun personality. She was fostered by Pav

Toast (brown tabby boy) was part of our TNR event and when we realized he was friendly, we couldn’t put him back. He was fostered by Jen.

These are your donations at work! These kittens might not be alive right now if the fosters hadn’t said yes. Thank you, Pav and Jen for saving and changing their lives.

Looking 👀 for a socialization foster. These kittens just showed up on a porch. If we don’t get them soon, they will probably move on. You’re looking at future ferals that are a foster away from having an indoor kitty lifestyle. Mom will be TNRd.

Happy Caturday!

The post- Panleuk crew is a month past diagnosis so they are getting to spend some time playing in the foster room today. They definitely are excited to stretch those legs. These babies are going to be quarantined for the entire six weeks post positive diagnosis to ensure they aren’t spreading any more cooties and are healthy for their new families.

Babies will be spayed and neutered November 9 and then available through Cherokee Humane Society

They are sweet but still learning to fully trust humans after all the medicating they went through. There are two Manx tails and a few fluffies.

We can’t wait to see them find their forever families soon. ❤️🐱❤️

It’s National Feral Cat Day!

Feral cats are cats that are unsocialized and do not trust humans (yet).

Feral cats cannot hunt enough to sustain themselves so are often seen around hotels, restaurants and gas stations where they can find food. Ferals depends on humans to feed them in different ways.

Feral cats are susceptible to predators and kitty illnesses as they huddle together for warmth during the colder months.

We believe the best way to celebrate a feral cat is to fix them! The feral life is a hard one and the fewer cats needing to survive that way, the better.

Show off your feral (and former feral!) colony and TNR kitties, we’d love to see and celebrate them along with you ❤️🐱❤️

Bartow has a set of 6 that REALLY need out before the weekend. Eye infections look scary, but with a little bit of TLC, they'll be much improved.

Can you foster? You need a place that the kittens can be away from all other pets and must be able to transport for their spay/neuter surgeries in Ballground.

These babies are a foster away from a major life change. You could be their ticket to a different future! Message us for details on how you can get started with fostering.

Happy Friday!!!!

Pictured are some of Ashley's fosters currently available for adoption at the Canton Petsmart through Cherokee Humane Society

Thank you so much to our porch fairy this week! We didn't even post a wish list, and she still blessed us with some goodies for the cats.

This week, we TNR'd 12 campground kitties. A few of those found placement/foster for possible socializing and adoption. Thank you to Pav and Sandy for doing all the heavy lifting. My only contribution was loaning traps, recovery in the garage and paying the bill. There were some adorable cats in that group, we're hopeful they can find rescue.

We transported some kitties to the vet for the rescue. One ended up having a pretty gnarly abscess and we are going to be medical fostering him until he's well enough to find his forever family.

Cherokee Humane is needing some more cat room cleaners. We do shift coverage when needed and it is a lot of fun! The team is a great community and there are so many amazing cats to get to know and love. Please message us if you'd like more information on how to help out. We know we know it’s a cat page.

Butttt we just had to show off our cutie Bartow AC puppy, Bubblegum. She’s still a little scared, but she’s come a long way!

Bubblegum was trapped and taken into animal control. She’s been doing fantastic with potty training and learning how to be an inside doggy.
