Update: It's been found!

A neighbor is looking for a hat that their son lost yesterday around 4:30pm on their way home from school. It would have been along Saltz Road between Hoben Elementary and Rand.

The hat is brand new and looks like the one pictured. If anyone happened to find it or see it, please comment here or send me a message so we can help get it back to them.

Thank you!

As e-bike use continues to grow in the neighborhood, we want to remind all riders to be safe, mindful, and respectful of those around them.

E-bikes are a great way to get around, but they need to be ridden with the same care and responsibility as any other vehicle or bicycle. This means:
• Obeying all stop signs and traffic rules
• Riding at safe speeds, especially on residential streets
• Watching for pedestrians, kids, and cars
• Being courteous and aware of your surroundings

We’ve had a few recent concerns about unsafe riding, and we want to make sure everyone, riders, drivers, and walkers feels safe in the neighborhood. While there may be limited enforcement at the neighborhood level, the township is starting to take a closer look at enforcing careless e-bike riding.

Let’s all do our part to keep Embassy Square a safe and enjoyable place for everyone.

♻️ Friendly Reminder from Canton Township ♻️

Hi neighbors! We received an important reminder from the Township regarding trash and recycling bin guidelines, and wanted to pass it along to help keep our neighborhood looking its best 😊

🗑️ Collection Bin Timing:
• Please place bins out no earlier than 6:00pm the day before collection pickup
• Bins should be brought back in within 12 hours after collection
• All bins should be stored behind the front line of your home (not in front/visible from the street)

📅 Weekly Pickup Reminder:
• Trash and recycle should be collected from each property at least once per week to maintain cleanliness and avoid any issues

The Township has shared that they’ve received an increase in complaints about bins being left out or stored in front of homes. Rather than moving straight to enforcement, we’re asking for your help in spreading the word so we can all help maintain the appearance and standards of the neighborhood. 😊

🌸 Spring Meeting Recap + Newsletter 🌸

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Spring HOA Meeting! We truly appreciate the time, input, and care our neighbors continue to bring to our community. It makes a big difference in keeping Embassy Square connected and running smoothly.

A few key highlights:
🏡 Board positions are open to volunteer and help shape the future of Embassy Square!

💰 We collected annual dues during the meeting. Thank you to everyone who contributed! Friendly reminder to submit your annual dues if you haven’t already. These contributions directly support neighborhood services and allow us to move ahead with projects like replacing the community sign.

🛍️🛍️Neighborhood Garage Sale + Kona Ice
Our neighborhood garage sale is coming up on May 15-17, and we’re adding a fun bonus this year!
🍧 Kona Ice will be on-site May 16 (cash or Venmo only). This will be the perfect treat while you shop and connect with neighbors!

🪧 Neighborhood Sign Replacement
There was strong agreement from attendees to move forward with replacing the entrance sign on Saltz and Canton Center Road.

Additional notes shared:
🌿 Community Maintenance Conversations
At this time, we’ll be keeping island grass cutting as-is. We ask that surrounding neighbors help by taking turns mowing and maintaining these areas. Working together keeps everything looking great!

Your involvement, feedback, and willingness to stay engaged help keep Embassy Square a place we’re all proud to call home. 🤍

Hi neighbors!

With storm season picking up and some recent weather that moved through Michigan, I wanted to share a quick but important reminder from Canton Public Safety to help everyone stay informed and prepared.

Canton has 16 outdoor warning sirens throughout the community to alert those who are outdoors and may be away from other technology and media sources. The sirens are activated for any one of the following reasons:

A public safety event that warrants an immediate notification to the outdoor public, such as an industrial accident, nuclear plant disaster or an act of terrorism or warfare
Severe winds of 70 miles per hour or more
Tornado warning issued by the National Weather Service

In the event the sirens are activated residents should seek shelter immediately, and tune into WWJ AM radio 950, WJR AM radio 760, or local television networks such as Fox, WDIV, or WXYZ for news and official information. Public Safety Officials ask that residents use a media source for information, leaving the 911 and dispatch lines open for emergency calls.

Please be aware, the sirens are not designed to be heard by those indoors, particularly this time of year when windows are closed, or at night when individuals are sleeping. The layout of the sirens is designed to overlap to ensure coverage; however, things like wind, rain and thunder often make the sirens difficult to hear.

Canton Public Safety recommends always having an alternate method for receiving warnings. Canton Public Safety uses Everbridge for emergency alerts. Subscribe to Everbridge at https://www.cantonmi.gov/269/Community-Alerts you will need to set up an account and select weather subscriptions. Once you select weather subscriptions, you can decide what specific weather alerts you wish to receive. You may also wish to consider purchasing a NOAA Weather Radio that will also activate and send warnings.

Hey neighbors!

Spring is (finally!) around the corner, and that means it's time for one of my favorite events, the Annual Spring Eggstravaganza! I'd love for you to join us, and please feel free to bring along friends, family, and any other neighbors you think would enjoy a fun afternoon out.

📍 Montibeller Park, 4305 Ellsworth Rd, Ypsilanti MI 48197
📅 Sunday, March 29th | 1:00 - 3:00pm
🥚 Egg Hunt kicks off at 1:30pm sharp!

Here's what you have to look forward to:

🐰 Meet the Easter Bunny - yes, THE Easter Bunny will be there for photos and all the springtime magic
🎈 Balloon animals and face painting available
☕ Bear Claw Coffee Truck - always a crowd favorite (trust me)
🧁 Chelsea Bakery baked goods because what's a party without something delicious?
🎲 Giant Yard Games - perfect for kids AND adults who refuse to grow up
🥫 And we'll be collecting dry cat & dog food for the Humane Society of Huron Valley's Bountiful Bowls pet food assistance program, so bring a donation if you're able!

This is a great chance to meet new neighbors, reconnect with familiar faces, and just enjoy a beautiful spring afternoon together. Whether you're coming solo, bringing the whole family, or dragging along a friend who needs to get out of the house, all are welcome!

Register using the link below. I'd love to get a rough headcount so we can plan accordingly. And if you know of neighbors I may have missed, please pass this along!
