Heart disease remains the #1 killer of women in the United States—but it doesn’t have to be❗️

Most cardiovascular disease is preventable with early detection and timely intervention. That’s why The Mended Hearts & Heart Sistas strongly support the Cardiovascular Disease Early Detection and Prevention Act of 2026. The bill expands access to lifesaving screenings so women—especially those at highest risk—can catch heart disease before it becomes deadly.

Join us and Heart Sistas for our upcoming webinar, where they will share their efforts to advance the Cardiovascular Disease Early Detection and Prevention Act of 2026, legislation focused on expanding access to advanced cardiovascular screening tests, improving prevention, early detection, and support for communities at greater risk of cardiovascular disease.

Great meeting today at Mended Hearts in the Galleria room with our lovely and very smart guest speaker, Kelly Burns, Pharmacist at Northside Cherokee. Wonderful and useful information about prescription medication, particularly concerning heart patients.

Kelly enlightened us on the importance of taking charge of our own meds, likening it to being the driver of our own car. Especially important, taking medication at the correct time, drug interactions, and following directions exactly as prescribed. Also, not taking any supplements without first consulting your doctor.

Our meeting was followed by a delicious catered lunch, created by our wonderful chef on site 😋

Alfred, our president, was missed but Noel did a terrific job in his absence.
Noel even had a fun raffle for us.

Looking forward to our next monthly meeting on May 19th at 10:30a.m.

Stay healthy and enjoy each day,
Eileen ❤️
