Huge congratulations to these girls who represented Team Ohio (two who are apart of our Canfield youth wrestling program) and came home NATIONAL DUAL CHAMPIONS in Greco&Freestyle! 🏆🇺🇸🤼‍♀️

Your hard work, toughness, dedication, and team spirit were on full display all weekend long. We are beyond proud!

This is a huge accomplishment and only the beginning of great things ahead. Keep believing, keep grinding, and keep making history for girls wrestling! 💪🔥

Trailblazers on the Mat: Meet Canfield’s “OG” Female Wrestlers!
Layla Doran and Riley Bourgerie, known as the “OGs,” have made history as the first female wrestlers at Canfield Middle School.
Now in 8th grade, Layla and Riley have spent the past two seasons demonstrating exceptional dedication, resilience, and commitment to the sport. In 2025, they became the first female wrestlers from Canfield to compete at the OAC Junior High State Tournament, an accomplishment they repeated this year. This season, they also competed at the Girls OAC Districts in Toledo and earned impressive finishes at the Ohio Quest State Championship, placing 3rd and 6th, respectively. We can't wait to see what's next!

We are SO proud of all of our wrestlers 🤼‍♂️

We had so many kids put in countless hours on the mat showing up, working hard, pushing through tough practices, and growing every single day. The progress each of these kids has made this season has been incredible to watch. From first matches to big wins, from learning moments to breakthrough performances… they’ve earned every bit of this opportunity.

What makes this team special isn’t just the wins, it’s their grit, their heart, and the way they support each other. They’ve built confidence, discipline, and toughness that goes far beyond wrestling.

No matter what happens this weekend, we couldn’t be more proud. Go out there, wrestle your hearts out, and leave it all on the mat!

🏆 Huge Day for Our Team! 🤼‍♂️

Our wrestlers showed up and battled all day, and we couldn’t be prouder. The team finished 2nd overall, and every single wrestler gave it everything they had on the mat. Amazing effort from top to bottom.
