For many years the Canby American Legion Post has conducted a ceremony on Memorial Day at the Zion Cemetery. The ceremony honors all veterans, and especially those who passed in the preceding year. For most of those years the Canby High School band has provided the music for the ceremony. This year was an exception to the disappointment of our membership and the attendees. This year the Post did not even receive the courtesy of a reply when we asked the High School to participate. The Post is deeply involved in our community. Each year we award scholarships to graduating seniors. This year was no exception. We hope in the future the Canby High School will once again join us in honoring our veterans.
