Elect Sherry Smith to the Canby School Board and help our children get back to school while creating an environment for kids to thrive and giving them the opportunity to reach their maximum potential in their education. They miss their friends and being in a classroom, but this is not just about my kids. It’s about yours too. I care about all kids in our community and want the absolute best for th
em in their education. I have lived in Canby for almost 10 years. We moved here from Hubbard because we loved the community and Tyler started his law practice in the downtown area in 2008. We have two children, a seventh grader and a fourth grader. Throughout their education, we have experienced it all!! We have done public school, private school, charter school and homeschool. Our homeschooling has been both in-person instruction and fully online. I have also been on the School Advisory Board at St. John the Apostle, budget committees in both Canby and North Marion school districts and have volunteered in the classroom at Carus. If elected to the school board, I will bring a breadth of knowledge from these school options to help improve Canby schools for your children. I know that this past year has been difficult for many of you and your children. I worry about the academic, social and emotional well-being of our kids. I know that not every parent is ready for their kids to go back full-time in person, and I want to honor that decision by supporting options to send kids to school full-time in person or online. I also want to be a voice for parents in the district, to be YOUR advocate. I will listen to the needs and desires of you and your kids. I want you to know that I have your back and I am supporting you. I want your tax dollars to work for you. You and your kids should have a say in what your kids are taught in the classroom. I have a tough race ahead of me. My opponent has been around a long time and has a loyal following, but it is time for a change. With your help, you can regain a strong voice in the education of your kids! I humbly ask for your support in this crucial race.
