MX is almost here!!! We are gearing up for one heck of an AWESOME year! Hope to see everyone there! ❤️ 🦁 🏍️

Our first practice of the season is Saturday, April 25th. Sorry, no Friday or Saturday camping for this practice. Things to note: we have a pre-novice 50-65cc practice. Non-race bike riders are asked not to practice with the 50-65 race bikes. They may practice with the pre-novice as long as it's safe for everyone on the track. Ladies will have their own practice class; we ask that you only run in your class. If you'd rather run in A/B, choose one. This is to keep all class sizes manageable. 85CC will get their own class if C class is too big. Our goal is to give everyone plenty of track time while keeping numbers at a safe level for everyone. Non-race bikes and Stacyc are on the cut track. Pre-novice classes have their own class for everyone’s safety and it helps us and the riders determine if pre-novice is where they belong. If we don’t have enough riders in a certain pre-novice class, we have volunteers who can ride behind a pre-novice rider in a non pre-novice class.

On Sunday, April 26th, we will have a track clean-up day (no riding). We'd love help with rock clearing (10-20 feet off the racing surface), starting gate prep, and other odds and ends. Again, no overnight camping Friday or Saturday. We can't wait to see everyone

A HUGE thank you to everyone who made the Canaan’s Lion Kids Ice Fishing Derby and the Mark Clifford Memorial Fishing Derby such an incredible event! We had an amazing turnout with 90 registered children — wow! The 2026 Canaan Lions Club Kids Ice Fishing Derby is ALMOST HERE! 🎣❄️
Get ready for a FULL day of winter fun on beautiful Canaan Street Lake!

🗓️Sunday, February 15th, 2026

🎟 FREE Admission – No cost to fish and have a blast!

⏰ Schedule:
• Registration opens bright & early at 7:30 AM right at the beach
• Derby fishing runs 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Stick around for the big awards ceremony at 1:00 PM – Trophies 🏆, awesome prizes 🎁, and lots of smiles guaranteed!

‼️IMPORTANT RULE: This event is STRICTLY for kids ages 15 and under ONLY.

📣 No trailer parking will be permitted in the beach parking area during the event.

Whether they catch the biggest fish, the most fish, or just their very first one through the ice – every kid is a winner with us! 🌟

The Canaan Lions are proud to be attending the District 44N Meeting today — and we have so much to celebrate!

👏 Congratulations to Canaan Lion Michael Leahey for receiving the LCIF Presidential Award for Goal Achievement!
This incredible recognition, presented by Dr. Patti Hill, Chairperson of Lions Clubs International Foundation, honors Michael’s vision, action, and dedication that truly bring our mission to life. This award represents far more than accomplishments — it symbolizes the countless lives you’ve touched through service. 💛

🏆 The Canaan Lions Club was also honored with the Club Excellence Award, and our very own President Alan Richard received the Net Presidential Club Award!
Plus, we were thrilled to receive the Club Rollout Banner for Membership Growth — for welcoming the most new members this year! 🎈🎉

💜 During the meeting, we also heard from a representative of Childhood Cancer Lifeline, one of Lions Clubs International’s global causes. Pediatric cancer touches so many lives, and we were honored to donate coloring books, crayons, sketch pads, cash, and gas gift cards to help children and families facing treatment.
