Don’t get tricked by the time change, Canaan and other NH Lions!

🎃🦁

Our Lion wizard is here with an important reminder: this Sunday, November 1st, we fall back one hour. At 2:00 a.m., clocks turn back to 1:00 a.m.—so treat yourself to that extra hour of sleep after Halloween night! 🍬

Pro tip: Set your clocks back before bed on October 31st so you’re not scrambling in the morning. (And while you’re at it, it’s a great time to check those smoke detector batteries!)
Looking ahead: we’ll spring forward again on Sunday, March 14, 2027.

Stay safe, enjoy the extra hour, and remember—we serve our community all year long! 💙

🍁🦁 FALL IS IN FULL ROAR HERE IN CANAAN! 🦁🍁

Just look at these colors! 😍 Fiery reds, glowing oranges, and golden yellows have taken over our hills and back roads, and we couldn't keep them to ourselves. 📸🍂

Fall in New Hampshire is something special. It's the season of crisp mornings, cozy sweaters, and neighbors coming together. 💛💙

👇 WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! 👇
🍎 What's your favorite fall tradition: apple picking, pumpkin carving, or a good old leaf pile jump?

🚗 Where's YOUR favorite spot to see the foliage around Canaan, Dorchester, Grafton, or Orange?

☕ Pumpkin spice everything 🎃 or team apple c***r 🍏? Choose wisely!

📸 Share your best fall photo in the comments. We'd love to see it!

🍂 Fall is also a great season to give back. As the weather turns colder, our neighbors' needs grow too. If you've ever thought about getting involved, there's no better time to join the Canaan Lions! 🦁

🍴 Dinner meeting: first Thursday of the month, 6 PM - Dinner on us! Just DM us here to RSVP

🦁🍽️ HAIRNETS ON, SLEEVES UP! 🍽️🦁

What happens when Lions clubs and neighbors come together to fight hunger? 10,000 MEALS, ONE COMMUNITY! 👇📸

Today, 4 members of the Canaan Lions Club joined our friends at the Newport Lions Club, fellow Lions, and community members at the Moose Lodge in Newport, NH, to pack meals with The Outreach Program / End Hunger New England. 💛💙

🥣 Scoop it
⚖️ Weigh it
🔥 Seal it
📦 Box it
❤️ Feed a neighbor!

⏱️ And get this: together we packed ALL 10,000 MEALS in just 1.5 HOURS! 🤯🎉 That's what teamwork looks like!

🙌 A HUGE thank-you to the Newport Lions for hosting such an incredible event, and to every Lion and community volunteer who showed up!

🎓 And a special SHOUT-OUT to Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, NH! 13 of their AMAZING students joined in and brought the energy, the teamwork, and the smiles! 💪😄 You are proof that small acts of service create BIG change. Thank you, KUA! 💛💙

🚨 BUT HERE'S THE THING 🚨
The need is still real. The Outreach Program reports $68,947 in meal requests (that's 172,368 meals!) still unfilled right now. 😮

👉 HOW YOU CAN HELP:

MX is almost here!!! We are gearing up for one heck of an AWESOME year! Hope to see everyone there! ❤️ 🦁 🏍️

Our first practice of the season is Saturday, April 25th. Sorry, no Friday or Saturday camping for this practice. Things to note: we have a pre-novice 50-65cc practice. Non-race bike riders are asked not to practice with the 50-65 race bikes. They may practice with the pre-novice as long as it's safe for everyone on the track. Ladies will have their own practice class; we ask that you only run in your class. If you'd rather run in A/B, choose one. This is to keep all class sizes manageable. 85CC will get their own class if C class is too big. Our goal is to give everyone plenty of track time while keeping numbers at a safe level for everyone. Non-race bikes and Stacyc are on the cut track. Pre-novice classes have their own class for everyone’s safety and it helps us and the riders determine if pre-novice is where they belong. If we don’t have enough riders in a certain pre-novice class, we have volunteers who can ride behind a pre-novice rider in a non pre-novice class.

On Sunday, April 26th, we will have a track clean-up day (no riding). We'd love help with rock clearing (10-20 feet off the racing surface), starting gate prep, and other odds and ends. Again, no overnight camping Friday or Saturday. We can't wait to see everyone
