Sincere thanks to the townsfolk who patronized the Friends of Canaan Pie Sale held on voting day. Through your generosity, we able to donate over $1700 to Gary Hamel’s rebuilding fund.
Also, appreciation to the bakers who made treats to sell. Chris Down, “the pie guru, “led a group of bakers to assemble over 3 dozen pies and pie shells.

Dear Canaan Residents,
At the August Friends of Canaan Village Meeting, members discussed our continuing efforts to beautify our downtown. We hope that you are enjoying the lovely barrels of flowers on the common, which we planted in the spring. Please thank our sponsors that are listed on the sandwich boards located by the gazebo (which our group recently re-stained!).
You may notice Ryan Harvey, a forester working for our group, pruning trees along Depot Street. We will also be removing a dead tree at the corner of Depot Street and Route 4 and planting another in its place.
Members of our group have worked on the gardens in front of the school and planted flowers in Depot Park.
We hope that you will be inspired by our efforts to join our group! We meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the Canaan Methodist Church Vestry. See you then!

Members of Friends of Canaan Village have been working to beautify the flower gardens at Canaan Elementary School. Despite the recent hot and humid weather, these gardeners have weeded, rearranged, and mulched the gardens. Their goal is to have a lovely display for the students when they return next month!
