To our CYSA family,
It is with a very heavy heart that I share that this year will be my final year serving as President of CYSA. Along with me, several other board members will also be retiring from our roles.
My journey with CYSA began as a brother coaching my little sisters and eventually my own boys, David and Daniel "Danny". I also supported the program by learning how to mark the fields alongside Armando Rios. What started as a coach simply wanting to be involved eventually led me to take on more responsibilities and become more deeply involved in the organization. Over time, I took on a larger role helping run CYSA, including serving through the years after Elisa Hernandez led the organization. Looking back, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have been part of this amazing community for so many years.
Throughout my time with CYSA, I have had the privilege of watching countless players learn, grow, gain confidence, build friendships, and develop a love for the game of soccer. Those memories will stay with me forever.
I want to sincerely thank all of the board members, coaches, volunteers, and parents who have given their time and energy to make CYSA what it is today. Most importantly, thank you to all of the players. You are the reason we do this. Watching you grow both on and off the field has been one of the greatest rewards of my life.
This decision has not been easy. Soccer has always held a special place in my heart, and stepping away from something I love so much is incredibly emotional. The truth is that managing and maintaining the organization has become increasingly difficult to keep up with, and I feel it is time for new leadership to take the reins. I will still help with the fields from time to time, but eventually that responsibility will need to be passed on to someone else as well.
My greatest hope is that someone who shares a passion for soccer and a commitment to our youth will step forward and continue building on what has been created. CYSA means too much to our community to let its legacy fade. We need individuals who love the game, believe in its impact on young athletes, and have the time and dedication to help guide the organization into the future.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the memories, the friendships, and the support over the years. It has been an honor to serve this organization as a coach, board member, president, and member of the CYSA family. While I may be stepping away from my role, I will always be cheering for CYSA and all the young athletes who wear its colors.
Please continue to keep the soccer spirit alive.
