As I spoke a little earlier about Restore the Legacy Campaign, what it is we are raising funds to start restoring the O J Thomas building. It is old but we have found out that the Community loves coming inside playing ball the Arcade room and merely just walking the halls, being out with their friends. So, we decided the O J Thomas Alumni, to kick off the Campaign.

With the repairs we are starting in phases and up 1st is to tackle the gym. The center of attraction. The goal is to raise $75,000 for the repairs. We have have some contributions but it could be better. We had EBCO a local contractor here yesterday to start the process. That is what Jason Dohnalik was here doing yesterday. He said give him about 2 weeks for an estimate. Also Anderle’s our local building supply David Boliver has an account set up for the windows to be repaired. We are also looking for computers for the Computer lab. We have 3 classrooms set up for after school tutoring or the need for a computer or printer.

So if you would like to see the old O J Thomas School or what was also called Cameron Jr. High, be repaired or brought up to date as a Resource Center you can send your donations to:

Good morning, this was last night. Help is on its way guys. I shared with them that The American Legion Post 9 donated to The Restore the Legacy Campaign and 4 floor fans. They were very happy and excited. No matter what the weather is these guys love Open Gym. So, on behalf of all from Open Gym, thank you American Legion Post 9.

These two sure can talk that military lingo and OJThomas neither one went to school at O J Thomas and neither one was in the true military, that is Army of course. “Be all that you can be in the Army”. One Air Force and one Marine.  Blab blab blab 😂😂

To our alumni, members, supporters, and the Cameron community:

Due to the ongoing discrepancies involving the O. J. Thomas Alumni Community Resource Center, we want to make the public aware that individuals are attempting to organize and represent another organization using the O. J. Thomas Alumni Community Resource Center name.

As a result of this confusion and misrepresentation, all activities related to the 61st Anniversary celebration at 1400 W. 6th Street have been postponed until further notice.

⚠️ PLEASE BE ADVISED:

• Any unauthorized use or occupation of the property located at 1400 W. 6th Street, Cameron, Texas, will result in criminal trespass action.

• Any membership dues paid to individuals or groups falsely representing the O. J. Thomas Alumni Community Resource Center will not be recognized as valid by the duly elected Board of Directors.

• Official annual membership dues are $75.00 and may be submitted by mail to:
