What a great turn out at our last art gathering! We had 5 new faces show up- 2 of them were members from before whom we haven't seen for awhile. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

We had two artists categories to compete in this time. Don Fisher won majority vote for the Theme: Lake Fun. Many of you know Bill Wood, he won croud favorite in the open category with his pastel painting.

We also had a "show and tell" table where a couple of artist showed off some of the art projects.

The person lined up for the activity for the evening called in sick, but Bill Wood stepped in and demonstrated how to draw with chalk pastels.

It was a great evening meeting new people and visiting with other artists.

For our May gathering Kathy Peironnet artwork was chosen as the majority favorite. Lovely work Kathy!

For the evening activity we had a short drawing lesson on how to break down the objects you see to it's basic form, capturing just enough detail to resemble your object. It was a great reminder on how to simplify your sketches and not get to caught up in the details. I'll try and get pictures of our activity next time.
