๐Ÿšจ Public Safety Alert: Suspicious Behavior Near Propane Facilities ๐Ÿšจ

The Worcester County Sheriffโ€™s Office is urging the community to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity around propane storage or distribution facilities. Propane is a highly flammable material, and unauthorized access or tampering could pose serious risks to public safety. Today, we were made aware of suspicious activity at the Sharp Energy Facility Plant in Princess Anne, Maryland. The activity occurred on Friday, 01-03-25. An employee observed a dark Blue Tesla, with unknown vehicle registration, parked in the middle of the side road entrance to the facility. The driver and passenger, described as middle eastern descent, exited the vehicle with โ€œHigh Techโ€ cameras with long lenses. They started taking pictures of the storage tanks and rail cars. When they were observed, they jumped back in the vehicle and fled the area. There may have been a third passenger in the rear of the vehicle.

What to Watch For:
โ€ข Unfamiliar individuals loitering near propane facilities.
โ€ข Unmarked vehicles parked for extended periods near such sites.
โ€ข Unauthorized personnel trying to access restricted areas.
โ€ข Odd behavior, such as photographing, taking notes, or closely inspecting tanks or equipment.

What You Can Do:
1. Stay Alert: If you live or work near a propane facility, keep an eye out for anything unusual.
2. Report Suspicious Activity: Call your local law enforcement agency. Provide a description of the person, vehicle, or behavior.
3. Avoid Confrontation: Do not approach or engage suspicious individualsโ€”your safety comes first.

** This occurred in Somerset County. Sheriff Matt Crisafulli was contacted directly by an employee of the company, who is a Worcester County resident. This post was put out in an abundance of caution for his Worcester County residents. This type of behavior can occur anywhere. Itโ€™s the Sheriff's responsibility to keep you informed in matters that relate to your safety.**
