It was a great day for our annual family BBQ. It’s a day for our families to visit and a chance to get to know our new families better. We have 1 rule for our bbq, no bikes! We want our riders and parents to hang out, talk, and play games with each other so they can get to know each other better, beyond the bikes. Nothing better than watching these kids laugh and have fun together.!

Sometimes newer riders will ask me, “When does it get easier?” And the answer is never really. 🤷‍♀️

Yes, it might get easier to make it up that climb. Eventually, you’ll get faster. You’ll feel stronger and more capable.

But easy? No. Biking is tough.

What I can tell you is that you’ll get tougher, physically and mentally. And in that way, I suppose it gets easier.

But never easy. That’s kinda the beauty of it. 😉

Tonight our team was presented with a donation from Helena United Cycling (HUC) from the proceeds from the Unravel the Scratchgravels race back in May. Thank you HUC for the generous donation and for investing in our community’s youth. HUC

It was a great night for the Helena Cyclones! We started out with our high school students helping coach the Skid Lids, a local little kid bike group. It was great to watch our Cyclones mentoring the next generation of bikers and give back to our community! After that our whole team went through bike maintenance lessons, race starts, and hot laps. We ended the practice with a gear swap looking for new treasures to take home!

New athletes: this is a great way to put a face to your coaching team! May 27 at Big Sky Cycling starting ay 6 pm. June 3 at Great Divide Cyclery starting at 6 pm. You only have to attend one.
