This Father’s Day, we're celebrating Stephen and Philip, a father-son duo here at BMC.
Stephen has served as Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences for more than 17 years, leading efforts to advance patient care, research, and education. Philip first joined BMC as a summer intern in undergrad before returning in 2019. He now serves as Chief of Staff to the Chief Medical Officer, helping support key initiatives and hospital operations.
For Stephen, being a father has been one of life's greatest gifts. "Raising children is humbling but also hugely rewarding," he shares. "I'm proud of our kids and happy that I can be called their dad."
Philip credits his father for instilling the value of hard work and dedication. "My dad is highly driven in his work and many parts of life. I appreciate the example of a dedicated work ethic and the mentorship he's provided over the years."
Outside of work, the two enjoy spending time together over coffee, photography, travel, and family gatherings.
