Join The 1865 Society of Pender County for another engaging installment of our Lecture Series as we welcome author and historian Curtis Hardison!

Mr. Hardison, a Pender County native, will share the remarkable story of his family’s ancestry, his research into the Edgecombe community, and the challenges African Americans often encounter while tracing ancestral genealogies.

He is the author of Griot: The Evolution of Edgecombe and recently published his third book, Griot: A Rosenwald Year, which preserves the memories of students who attended the one-room Rosenwald Sloop Point Elementary School.
