It's that time of year again when one of our collective, Heather Schneider, is helping coordinate West Virginia Restorative Justice Project's annual statewide community building circles!

There are 18 circle sites throughout the state of West Virginia, and they'll be in Upshur County's at Mountain CAP Family Support Center.

We'll have snacks and spend a little time learning about circle processes by being in a community building circle with each other.

Samaritan's Purse is around helping with repairs and rebuilding if you are in Upshur or Lewis Counties in WV and were impacted by the Flash Flood on July 21-22!

We hung some of these up around the town of Buckhannon, WV at Artistry on Main, Cooks, and Stone Tower.

This is a community free meal post!

Hi everyone!

Our October 24th, 2026 community free meal will be a delicious pancit with a roll and fresh fruit!

If you'd like to contribute to help this meal happen, our list of ingredient needs is below:
🍜 Rice noodles: About 19 lbs
🥬 Cabbage: 8 heads
🧅 Onion: 2x 3 lb bag
🥕 Frozen 20oz Veggies:
24 bags (Great Value Deluxe Stir Fry, Mixed Vegetables) - no noodles!
🌱 Green onion, sliced: 6 bunches
Vegetable stock: About 1 gallon (4x 32oz cartons)
🍶 Soy Sauce: 2 bottles
💦 Sesame Oil: 2x 5oz bottles
🍎 Fresh Fruit: 130 of apples and oranges
🍞 Hawaiian Rolls: 130 rolls (11x packs of 12)

Sarah and Rick Mathes, along with more community members, are still living out of hotels.

“For the disabled community, a lot of us don’t know where to turn,” Sarah said.

“There’s not enough housing at all, because we’ve been trying to get her into an ADA-compliant apartment for the last six years, and there’s just nothing out there,” Ricky said.

“There’s a lot of community members, neighbors, family, friends that were already in a devastated state before the flood hit,” Schneider said.
