๐ŸŒฑ Kids Cut is growing! ๐ŸŒฑ

Due to the large positive response shown by our community (and the willingness of our mentor, Cody) Kids Cut picked up a second location and a second youth this month! ๐Ÿ’š

Paxton is 13 years old and will be working at a local church in June! He will have the opportunity to earn his very own paycheck by landscaping the churchโ€™s property and keeping it clean for their Sunday Service.

๐Ÿ’› Appalachian Impactโ€™s Youth Entrepreneur Programs are youth powered and future focused. Weโ€™re giving opportunities for our youth today to provide us all with better tomorrows! ๐Ÿ’›

Welcome back to another edition of ! โš’๐Ÿ”ง

Does your child have a hard time stopping a preferred activity? Try giving them a transition warning, or essentially, a heads-up that a change is coming soon.

It reduces frustration and feelings of helplessness by helping them prepare for what's coming next.

Try it at home today with the following suggestions:
--"One more episode, and then it's time for dinner."
--"Five more minutes, and then it's time to clean up."
--"One more turn, and then we're heading inside."

Giving a warning and a little extra time to prepare can help make transitions easier for everyone involved.

๐ŸŒฑ Meet our June Youth Entrepreneurs! โ˜•๏ธ

Emily and Ryan will be joining us this month as our youth entrepreneurs. Emily will be managing our Coffee Spot, while Ryan will be working to improve our outdoor space.

These programs are designed to give youth a sense of responsibility and ownership in a job position. They get to earn paychecks, all while learning the importance of hard work and community.
