🐴❤️ TWO WILD HEARTS. ONE NEW BEGINNING!
We have some exciting news to share with our H3 families!
We’ve welcomed two beautiful yearling mustang fillies from the South Shoshone area of Nevada!
These girls have traveled a long way from everything they’ve ever known, and their journey with us is just beginning. They no longer have their mamas to help them learn. They have only been off the range for 90 days.
They will eventually become part of an exciting new program here at H3, focusing on connection, trust, communication, boundaries, and understanding the language of the horse.
But this program will be a little different!
The horses will help determine how their journey unfolds.
We won’t be rushing them or expecting them to meet a certain timeline. Instead, we’ll be learning to recognize their communication, respect their boundaries, and allow trust to develop naturally.
This process is called gentling.
Gentling isn’t about forcing a horse to accept our touch or attention. It’s about building a relationship through patience, understanding, consistency, and trust.
And these two girls have so much to teach us! ❤️
🌿 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL H3 STUDENTS & FAMILIES
Their new pen is located near an area where students and families regularly walk.
Because these girls are still adjusting to their new surroundings, we need everyone’s help creating a calm, safe environment.
🐴 Please do not approach their fence. Give them plenty of space.
🐴 No touching or petting. Even if they approach you, please do not reach toward them or through the fence.
🐴 No feeding treats or hay.
🐴 Please don’t call to them, whistle, or try to get their attention.
🐴 Walk calmly and quietly when passing their area. No running, shouting, or sudden movements.
🐴 Parents, please help younger children understand and respect these boundaries.
❤️ HERE’S SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER…
Just because a horse approaches you doesn’t necessarily mean she’s asking to be touched.
She may simply be curious, observing you, or trying to understand her surroundings.
Sometimes the kindest thing we can do is allow a horse to observe us without expecting anything in return.
Trust cannot be rushed.
Connection cannot be forced.
And respecting boundaries is one of the greatest ways we can show kindness.
As these girls become more comfortable, our students will have opportunities to follow their progress, learn about their behavior, and potentially participate in their gentling journey when the horses are ready.
For now, the greatest gift we can give them is TIME, SPACE, and PEACE.
We’re so excited for this new chapter at H3 and can’t wait to share their journey with all of you!
Welcome home, beautiful girls! 🐴❤️
