Stepping out of the classroom created space for more of what fills meโ€ฆ so I can pour more into others and into community.

I love being a Rotarian. I love being a Master Gardener trainee. Getting to bring the two together felt like a little cherry on top.

It was a great day in the garden
โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿช๐Ÿซœ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ…๐Ÿซ‘๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿ‹๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Marysville Rotary had the opportunity to host a vocational tour at the Yuba Center Master Gardeners demonstration and learning garden, and it did not disappoint. The weather showed up for us, the setting was beautiful, and the learning was even better.

Cheryl Hoke, Master Gardener Program Coordinator, shared about the work happening right here in our community. Everything they do is rooted in research based practices and carried out through garden education, hands on support, and meaningful partnerships. From building garden spaces at Casa de Esperanza and the Cancer Center to supporting food security through produce and procurement, it is work that truly matters.

You can feel her passion for both gardening and community.

Thereโ€™s something grounding about being out there. Soil really is our common ground.

If you havenโ€™t visited yet, youโ€™ll have a great opportunity coming up. The UC Master Gardeners Plant Sale is happening April 11 and May 9 from 9:00 to 1:00 at 142 Garden Highway in Yuba City. Plants are just $4, grown by Master Gardeners, and they always have incredible varieties you wonโ€™t find at big box stores.

Tomatoes, peppers, squash, flowers and moreโ€ฆ and all proceeds go right back into the learning garden.
