Although I came to understand what it was all about, it didn’t mean I liked the process. So often, from the pulpit, believers make it seem as though this walk is all about being
blessed and receiving blessings, without suffering. Too often we don’t hear about the long suffering and what that feels like. The elders in Christianity don’t speak about the pain, the hurt, the loneliness and the falls. Paul said “For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.
Philippians 1:29 (NIV) The suffering is hard, the suffering is painful, the suffering is traumatic, the suffering is shameful, the suffering means abandonment, the suffering means betrayal and embarrassment. To be truthful, I was somewhat embarrassed to be at Marie’s, because I had pride, and that wasn’t good. The process was also about humility. Every time we go through a process or a transition, we need to understand what that process or transition is about and what it’s for. It’s always about purpose and pushing or moving you closer to your purpose. I was called to women who are going through a transition, but what kind of a transition, I’m not sure.
There are so many kinds of transitions we go through. There’s emotional transition, physical transition, mental transition, character-building transition, financial transition, spiritual transition. I was going through all of them. Why? Because of the purpose. The Lord needed to “process” me by working on my character for my growth and maturity in faith and for the purpose. The word process means “a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end.” My process was to achieve the purpose to which I was called. But there are levels of the processes that we must go through to accomplish this.I was at the beginning level. There was a process through the process. The transition I was currently going through did not look good or feel good, but it was for the good. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 (KJV).
