We made History with the launch of the first-ever Rosie the Riveter Girl Scout badge thanks to two amazing women.
This milestone happened because two extraordinary women believed it could—Michelle Hatfield and Darlene Soave. Two women who NEVER seek accolades, but oh how they deserve them.
This badge is the result of a year-long friendship and partnership with Michelle Hatfield - GSHOM and Girl Scout Troop 60078 From celebrating WWII veterans’ birthdays and supporting Toys for Tots, to cheering up homebound veterans through the Girl Scout Heroes Program and spending time with our Rosies, Michelle and the girls were always there—through the ups and downs.
Darlene Soave is the reason we have a home for all our Greatest Generation Youth Mentorship endeavors. Darlene has been supporting the Greatest Generation and veterans for years without a word to anyone. From keeping Military Legends from losing their homes, to ensuring their medical needs are met, Darlene has stepped up in silence during very difficult moments in the later years of our heroes' lives.
And the women (and men) who helped make this day so special...THANK YOU
Ryan MacLeod, you don’t help, you make magic and are one of the most selfless people we have ever known.
Female Veterans and warriors - Ryan MacLeod, Kate Melcher, Hannah Shaner and Cathy Rayl -Thank you for standing by our young girls during their American Flag presentation--female excellence with enormous hearts.
Jessica Osborn, you are a warrior of philanthropy, friendship and mentorship –to children and us.
Rosie Rose, Our first Torchbearer and CONSTANT supporter of children and women. We love you.
Tanya Blehm, no matter how busy you are, you stop to help with our behind the scenes digital hiccups
Bethany Walter and FLAG–distance and last minute changes could not stop you and the girls from supporting us and the Rosies. We don't want any milestone moments without you.
And our team, Aunt Fannie, Remi & Aurora, Greg and Andrea –saying you are the best is an understatement.
Whether you brought the magic like a flyover, stood by our girls through their Flag presentation, helped the girls earn their badge, supported the mission behind the scenes, or simply let us know you were there to help, you made this day extraordinary with selflessness.
And to Lisa, Diana and Mary, thank you for sharing your moms with the world, especially our youth.
We have more fun photos and videos, but today is a day of gratitude for these ladies. (and Remi and Greg)
Proper thanks to our flyover team upcoming too!
We honored the warriors of yesterday and inspired the leaders of tomorrow. ❤️🇺🇸✨
