Kitten Season unveils the true meaning of the Cat Crisis in NYC. SO MANY litters being born, it’s hard to keep up, especially when it’s happening in the secrecy of unregulated NYC Bodega basements. This family comes with one of those stories. A horrifying and disgusting health hazard to both animals and humans alike…this is where you’re buying your sandwiches from. These are the people you’re supporting daily to hydrate yourself during the heatwave. NYC needs to crack down on this animal neglect and abuse happening on literally every street corner. Luckily, this bodega cooperated and handed over the family for a better life, but many out there haven’t or will never be given the same opportunity and it’s completely heartbreaking.

Two of these kittens came from an unrelated situation and are not doing well. Mom cat just simply can’t sufficiently feed them all. They’re underweight and not thriving so I stopped by Mat Stevens home to help him out with these lucky kittens and mom that were saved by Greenpoint Cats this past weekend.

Billy Bob, oh bud. Still a shy scared bb, but he came back to me after his foster mom could no longer foster and I just have such an affinity for this guy. He hasn’t gotten this close to anyone else and I feel quite connected to him, but IF THERE’S ANOTHER PATIENT LOVER OF SHY ELDER CATS OUT THERE, RAISE YOUR HAND! Otherwise I fear (for my boyfriend) that I may be keeping him lol. The truth is that as much as I love him, fostering failing for a rescuer means that they now have less capacity for other kitties in need, so please don’t feel like you’d be tearing us apart if you are interested! I believe that he DOES have the capacity to love other humans, it just takes the right kinda human 🙏 and time.

AVAILABLE: Tuna!

Tuna is a lovely, calm, and patient cat. He enjoys being around people, and he is also one of the prettiest cats you will ever find—a “brown” tabby with prominent black stripes, polka dots on his paws that when you look more carefully you see that his gray is really black fur with frosted tips.

We rescued him from Midwood, Brooklyn after a local bodega shut down and left him to find his own way. Because of this, he seems prefers company while he eats breakfast, and if you leave the room, he will come meowing after you until you return to help him finish the meal. Otherwise, he is normally a quiet cat doesn’t meow much, but he does however have a loud purr!

He has been known to be a lap cat if you initiate and really likes to be around people - during dinner parties he will be front and center or observe from his cat bed in the dining room. He loves to play with wand toys especially, but he also loves to play with yarn and yarn toys...basically he will bat at anything that dangles!

He’s really a good boy. His calm demeanor and people-friendly vibe should make him a good member of just about any household with or without kids. Tuna is fully vaccinated (FVRCP & Rabies), Microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative and dewormed/deflea-ed.
