In this 3-hour workshop, participants will:
• Learn the principles and core components of YPAR-an equity-grounded approach that positions young people as lead researchers and experts on their own lived experiences.
• Experience hands-on YPAR activities that can be adapted for classrooms and youth programs.
• Explore the idea of youth co-construction and what it can look like in practice.
• Consider how young people can move from being participants to partners in creating meaningful change.
✨ Facilitator: Anita Chikkatur
Professor of Educational Studies at Carleton College, Anita has supported participatory action research projects in Minnesota schools involving youth, parents, teachers, and administrators.
