The first weeks of college should be filled with new experiences – not fear.

But the beginning of the academic year is also known as as the Red Zone, a period when the risk of sexual assault on college campuses rises exponentially.

If you or someone you know experience a sexual assault, you may not know what to do, where to report it or what your options are. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Health Imperatives’ A New Day program is here to listen, answer your questions and provide free, confidential support without judgment or pressure.

Earlier this month, our new CEO Stephanie Brown joined three other provider panelists to discuss the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s national findings and how they are reflected on Nantucket, focusing on early childhood education, health equity, housing, economic mobility and examples of local progress.

The Foundation’s influence and funding priorities often shape broader philanthropic and public policy conversations. Thank you to Community Foundation for Nantucket for the invitation!

Thank you Nourish Nantucket for awarding us a $30,000 Food Fund grant to support Health Imperatives’ strategies to address for families enrolled in the WIC program on Nantucket.

Funding will address immediate food needs by providing gift cards to - expanding WIC families’ access to fresh, locally sourced food. It will also support WIC staffing costs not fully covered under our state contract, ensuring the continued access, delivery and coordination of nutrition services.

We are extremely grateful for your support of the work we do.

Health Imperatives’ free and confidential services are here for male survivors, too. Less talked about doesn’t mean less traumatic.

Thank you to Governor Maura Healey and the Massachusetts Legislature for continuing to protect access to reproductive health care across the Commonwealth.

Complex and deeply personal medical decisions belong where they should be - between a patient and her health care provider, guided by individual circumstances.

Health Imperatives is committed to ensuring everyone has access to the compassionate, confidential, reproductive healthcare they need, when they need it.

We were pleased to be part of such an important partnership! Health Imperatives Cape programs distributed 200 meals through this effort, and we are honored to be part of a broader solution to combat food insecurity in our communities.

What can happen when community partners come together with a shared purpose? This week, it meant 1,300 nutritious shelf-stable meals reaching neighbors across Cape Cod through Cape & Islands United Way's distribution efforts.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible volunteers from the John W. Hughan Foundation, who gathered at Stone Horse Yacht Club to pack meals that support local individuals and families facing food insecurity. The Foundation's broader effort provided meals to numerous organizations across the Cape, and we were honored to help distribute a portion of those meals to community partners throughout our region.

The 1,300 meals distributed through Cape & Islands United Way were delivered to Brazilian Resource Center, Health Imperatives, Cape Veterans' Outreach, A Baby Center, Hands of Hope, and Faith Family Kitchen—organizations that work every day to strengthen our community.

We are grateful to the John W. Hughan Foundation, the volunteers, and all of our nonprofit partners for making this effort possible. Every meal distributed is a reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together.

This recognition means so much to us and reflects the dedication of our incredible team and the strength of the partnerships that make our work possible. Every day, we’re committed to expanding access to high-quality healthcare, nutrition, services, and support programs that help individuals and families across Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket thrive.

Congratulations to all of this year’s Community Partners!
