🎣 FARMINGTON RIVER FLOW UPDATE

Anglers should be aware of temporary changes to the Colebrook Lake Reservoir release over the next several days as CT DEEP conducts fisheries work.

💧 Monday, Aug. 24: Release reduced to 75 CFS this afternoon
💧 Tuesday, Aug. 25: Release increased to 175 CFS in the afternoon
💧 Wednesday, Aug. 26: Release increased to 200 CFS, where it is expected to remain through Labor Day, Sept. 7

What does this mean for anglers?

Expect noticeably lower water levels and slower current, particularly in the upper river, following Monday’s reduction. Shallow riffles and runs may become considerably skinnier, with more exposed rocks and less water in some side channels.

Flows will begin coming back up Tuesday afternoon and should be closer to normal summer conditions once the release reaches 200 CFS on Wednesday.

Remember that these numbers represent the release from Colebrook Lake Reservoir, not necessarily the total flow you’ll encounter farther downstream. Tributaries and local conditions will contribute additional water.

Please plan accordingly, use care while wading, and give fish plenty of room in areas where lower water may concentrate them.

We’ll share any additional updates as they become available.
