HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY, UNIT 235!

One whole year of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 235! What started as a new chapter has become a year of learning, serving, bringing people together, and building something special in our community.

From our first Chili Cook-Off to our Mother’s Day Craft Show, we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished in our first year — and we’re just getting started!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, volunteered, attended our events, and helped us grow. We couldn’t do it without you.

Here’s to another year of making a difference, supporting our veterans and their families, and continuing the mission we believe in.

One year down. Many more to go.

Happy Thursday!

Did you know in the month of October our lovely poppy’s were officially adopted as our memorial flower?

in 1921, during the first national convention, they officially announced the poppy as the auxiliaries memorial flower. The members of the Auxiliary then pledged that 100% of all the poppy proceeds went directly to welfare relief for service members and families.

What’s awesome is now over 100 years later we’re still doing the same thing.

THROWBACK THURSDAY

A little look back at where we started!

Last year, we hosted our first-ever Chili Cook-Off on Michigan vs. Michigan State football day. 🌶️🏈

Since then, we’ve continued growing and bringing new events to our community — including our Mother’s Day Craft Show this year.

And now, the Chili Cook-Off is coming back!

🌶️ November 7, 2026 🌶️

We’re excited to bring back a tradition we started and make this year’s event even better!
