SCHOOL CLOSED… BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO WORK? 👀

We know how stressful those random school closures, teacher convention days, half days, and schedule changes can be for working parents. That’s exactly why we created HOCAS Group Flex Days!

Flex Days provide a safe, structured place for your child when their school is closed or operating on an abnormal schedule.

✨ Starting at Pre-K 4
✨ Must be fully potty trained
✨ No upper age cutoff — you decide!
✨ 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
✨ Earlier drop-off available for an additional fee
✨ Structured activities, homework help, enrichment & more!

💰 $40/day for children enrolled in our HOCAS Group Afterschool Program
💰 $60/day for children not enrolled in our Afterschool Program

📅 We may be open for teacher convention days, half days/early dismissals, the day before & after Thanksgiving, professional development days, and other school-closure or abnormal schedule days.

❄️ Ask us about Winter & Spring Break days!

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Flex Days are NOT drop-in care. Children must be fully registered prior to the date(s) needed. We also need to confirm that we have enough registrations and staff to make each day possible.

We’ve made our way through our staff spotlights, and we’re wrapping things up by recognizing Miss Emily Melissa!

Emily has been a great part of our camp team this summer. She’s an awesome organizer, always helping keep things on track and making sure there’s a plan for what comes next. She also helped come up with some of the activities we did throughout the summer and was always willing to jump in and help make things happen. One of the things we really appreciate about Emily is how adaptable she is. Camp doesn’t always go exactly as planned, and she’s someone who can adjust, figure things out, and keep moving without letting a change in plans throw everything off.

Her ability to stay organized while still being flexible has been a big help throughout the summer, and we’re grateful for everything she’s contributed to our campers and our team.

📚✨ A NEW WAY TO DO AFTER SCHOOL! ✨📚

We’re excited to offer something a little different this school year! Our HOCAS Group Afterschool Program is designed to be more than just a place for kids to go after school — it’s a place to learn, create, socialize, and have fun in a structured environment.

We’re also making the program more affordable! Our monthly rate has been marked down from $280 to just $250/month! 🎉 And if you don’t need every day, we also offer day-by-day pricing for just $20/day.

From Monday–Friday, 2:00–5:30 PM, kids will have access to actual homework help, along with art activities, digital design, coding, chess, games, snacks, and other structured activities that keep them engaged and learning. 🎨💻♟️🎮📖

We want to create an afterschool experience where kids aren’t simply waiting for the day to end — they’re doing something meaningful, building skills, making friends, and having FUN!

We’re continuing our staff spotlights, and today we’re recognizing Miss Ma Ci, who brought something a little different to camp every Wednesday with our Wellness Wednesday program.

Every Wednesday, Miss Maci led a two hour session focused on helping our campers better understand their emotions and continue developing their social-emotional skills. 💚

Some Wednesdays were all about getting up, moving around, and having fun, while other activities were designed to help the kids slow down, relax, and practice calming themselves. She gave the kids different ways to express themselves, manage their emotions, and take a break when they needed one. We really appreciated the time and thought she put into making each Wednesday different and keeping the kids involved. It was a great addition to our camp program and gave the children an opportunity to work on skills that go beyond the typical camp activities.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: MISS Carmen Vera! 🌟

Sometimes, being a great staff member isn’t about one big thing. It’s about consistently showing up, doing your job well, and genuinely caring about the kids. That’s Miss Vera.

She has always shown a lot of patience and care toward our campers and has been someone we could count on throughout the summer. She works well with the kids, gets along with the team, and has been a dependable part of our camp.

Miss Vera may not be the loudest person in the room or the one looking for attention, but she quietly does what needs to be done and makes sure the kids are cared for. And honestly, having staff members who simply show up, do their job, and care about the children makes a huge difference.

🎨 STAFF SPOTLIGHT: PATTI PARKS! 🎨

Miss Patti Parks is an incredibly talented art teacher who brings so much creativity to everything she does. She’s constantly coming up with new art projects for the kids, and some of our absolute favorites have been the 3D projects she creates. There’s always something new to make, and she has a way of turning an idea into something the kids are genuinely excited about.

Patti is also the person behind our past two Paint Parties, both of which have been a great time. We’re excited to keep working with her and have more Paint Parties with her in the future! 🖌️

She is extremely dedicated to her craft and puts a lot of thought into what she brings to our programs. On top of being a talented artist, she does a great job working with the kids and making art something they can actually enjoy and be proud of.

Miss Vicky Vineyard is an awesome young lady who has been such a great addition to our camp team. She’s amazing with all of the kids and always comes in ready to jump in, help out, and make the day work. You can almost always count on her walking through the door with some kind of fun drink in hand and being ready to take on whatever the day brings.

One of the things we really appreciate about Vicky is how easygoing she is. There’s never a big production, never unnecessary drama. She just figures things out, works with the kids, and keeps things moving. Whatever comes up, she’s willing to roll with it and help wherever she’s needed.
