💛 Honoring Black Breastfeeding Week

Our WIC team was proud to participate in 's Black Breastfeeding Week event - an interactive art exhibit and community panel honoring the resilience, strength, and stories of Black birthing families.

We feel very grateful to have been part of this meaningful gathering, where art and conversation created space to honor stories, celebrate community, and connect with families and community partners in recognition of Black Breastfeeding Week.

Did you know newborns get a special health check? 👶It's called newborn screening, and September is Newborn Screening Awareness Month! It's a quick test that checks for serious but treatable conditions. Catching things early is a big deal; it leads to faster treatment and better health outcomes for babies.

Yesterday, we celebrated fathers, grandfathers, uncles, mentors, and father figures who provide love, stability, and support to children throughout Kitsap County.

💜 Our WIC team had a wonderful time connecting with families at the Bremerton Farmers Market!

We loved sharing information about WIC services, answering questions, and meeting so many amazing community members. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, said hello, and learned more about the resources available to support women, infants, and children throughout Kitsap County.

Didn't catch us in Bremerton? We will be there again on June 25th.
We will also be at the Port Orchard Farmers Market throughout July and August!

In observance of Memorial Day, Kitsap Community Resources WIC offices will be closed on Monday, May 25.

Today, we honor and remember the brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend. Our offices will reopen during regular business hours on Tuesday.
